Spay/Neuter Services

We do not require your dog to be spayed or neutered to receive our services. However, we STRONGLY encourage you to spay/neuter your dog. There are several low cost spay/neuter clinics in Massachusetts. In addition, the MA Animal Fund can assist pet owners in need with spay/neuter vouchers when funding is available.

If you want to Spay/Neuter Your Dog:

1. We work with the Dakin Spay/Neuter Clinic in Springfield. Find out more about the Dakin Clinic and spay/neuter here

2. Follow Dakin’s guidelines here for booking a spay/neuter appointment. If you want to apply for a MA Animal Fund voucher, email Dakin as they direct. Please note: individuals cannot apply for a voucher. All voucher requests come from spay/neuter providers like Dakin or animal control officers. MA Animal Fund vouchers may also include funding for rabies and distemper/parvo vaccinations.

3. If you DO NOT qualify for a MA Animal Fund voucher OR vouchers are not available, fill out our application for assistance to be considered for funding.

4. Please note: If accepted, MA Animal Fund vouchers can take months to come in. Please do not fill out a Kane’s Krusade assistance application simply because you don’t want to wait. We utilize the same system Dakin does.
