C.A.R.E. Kits

Canine Assistance, Resource and Empowerment (C.A.R.E.) Kits are designed to help special needs pet families keep their dogs in difficult times. Special needs include, but are not limited to, the following:

For the people in the pet family:

  • No transportation
  • Home-bound

Dogs in the pet family:

  • Require a special diet prescribed by a veterinarian
  • Have a food or environmental allergy requiring limited ingredient food and/or medication that the pet family cannot afford

If you are not a special needs pet family, please do not apply for a C.A.R.E. Kit. Due to COVID-19 and limited resources and manpower, we can only offer C.A.R.E. Kits to special needs pet families at this time. Check out our Resources page for other options.

C.A.R.E. Kits are delivered to the home-bound every two months and include dog food and equipment for up to 8 weeks. Other support services such as vet care, vaccinations, spay/neuter and training are available as funding allows. Our current pet families receive priority when funding is limited.

Our Pay It Forward program gives pet families the opportunity to get involved with our services and work together to expand our reach.

Service Area:

Western Massachusetts towns: Agawam/Feeding Hills, Chicopee, East Longmeadow, Holyoke, Indian Orchard, Longmeadow, South Hadley, Springfield, Westfield and West Springfield.

If you meet the eligibility guidelines above AND live within our service area, fill out an application for help here.
